Users will be able to wear DressX's “digital fashion-leading” clothes on all Meta platforms, including Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, and VR headset Quest… Meta, the parent company of many leading platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, has announced a collaboration with DressX, a digital fashion initiative based in Los Angeles, USA. This move is of great importance, according to Forbes, as it is the first collaboration with a digital fashion retailer. Sharing her views on the matter, DressX co-founder Daria Shapovalova said, “The opportunity of scale we can achieve with Meta is amazing, this is a small victory for us, because when we started there was nothing [for digital fashion]. The goal is to make digital fashion accessible, and we want people to use DressX collections on Snapchat, Meta, Roblox and more.” Users started purchasing DressX clothes on July 19th, which they can wear on their avatars across all Meta platforms, including Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, and the VR headset Quest. Founded in 2020, DressX offers digital collections to brands and 3D designers. DressX previously made a name for itself through its collaboration with H&M, providing “virtual fashion products” to the famous fashion brand. It also managed to become a finalist for LVMH’s 2022 Innovation Award. Finally, Meta’s move comes after the announcement on September 1st that the cryptocurrency wallet Novi would be shut down. The social media company had asked Novi users to withdraw their investments as soon as possible. This article is quoted.
