Beginning Node Academy is a program founded by Beginning Node, a Turkish Informatics Foundation initiative. With the main focus of teaching university students 21st Century core competencies, it serves as an alternative form of education. All of our courses are prepared in accordance with WEF and OECD reports and are taught by pioneers in their own fields. All of our courses will be interactive and held online. All of the young leaders who graduate from our program will have the opportunity to do an internship in one of the distinguished organizations listed below.

We are glad to say that our program was developed with the support of the Ahiler Development Agency and Istanbul Chamber of Mechanical Engineers. Our program consists of 5 main parts.
1-Sustainability
In this module, courses will be on the sustainability of individual competencies, social and environmental sustainability, social impact management and measurement.
2- Digital Literacy and Emerging Technologies
In this module, students will learn about the competencies that are necessary in the age of disruption. They will also have the opportunity to learn emerging technologies in the field of entrepreneurship from leading entrepreneurs.
3-Mentorship and Internship Opportunities
Our mentors work to understand our young leaders’ needs and worries,helping them all on an individual basis. The young leaders who complete our program will be able to intern at several distinguished organizations.
4- Entrepreneurship
In this module, the young leaders will learn to create their own ideas as entrepreneurs and bring these ideas to life. When they complete this program, they will be able to proudly call themselves entrepreneurs.
5- Preparation for Interviews
In this module, the young leaders will learn how to take their first steps towards the business world, how to prepare a proper CV, and how to succeed in a real time interview conducted by real human resources representatives. They will receive feedback and practice the tools required to be a good interviewee.

Who can apply?
3rd and 4th year students enrolled in undergraduate programs can apply to the Beginning node Academy regardless of their school and department
Are only students from specific universities accepted to the program?
Our aim is to educate bright students from various backgrounds, including students who may be studying under disadvantaged conditions. Towards this goal, we open our program to students from all regions.
When will the applications be evaluated?
Applications will be evaluated in February.
Who conducts the evaluation?
The Beginning Node team will conduct the evaluations.
When will the results be announced?
Results will be announced in February, 2021.
Will the program be in-person or online?
The 2021 program will be completely online and held on video conferencing programs.
How long will the program last?
The program is planned to start in February 2021 and end in June 2021.
How much time should I devote to the program?
Young leaders are expected to devote approximately 5 hours each week to the program.
Who do we call Impactful young leaders?
We consider all Beginning Node Academy participants to be impactful young leaders. We use the word “Impact” to mean proactively aiding society and nature and to also mean “Effective”.
What opportunities will be presented to young leaders?
With their new 21st century competencies, the young leaders will be one step ahead of their peers on their journey towards realizing their dreams. By offering internship opportunities at organizations from different sectors we aim to give the first push towards this realization.
Will financial aid be offered to the young leaders?
Yes! Young leaders will be aided 500 Liras monthly. In order to determine that the leaders awarded this aid are worthy, another elimination process will be carried out focusing on the young leaders’ participation and interest in the programç
Will the young leaders receive mentorship?
Yes! Our impactful young leaders will be assisted by mentors who are experts in their fields.
What is the graduation requirement of the program?
At least 90% participation and successful completion of the course modules is expected from the young leaders.
What awaits the young leaders after they complete the program?
As Beginning Node Academy graduates, our young leaders will join the Beginning Node Network and have the opportunity to join several projects and benefit from the ecosystem’s culture.
